On February 22, 2010, Lifehouse played in Cologne, Germany. The concert was relocated from the cosy, little Luxor to this slightly bigger - but still too small - venue Bürgerhaus Stollwerck. It was sold out. But the good thing is that the show was sold out before it was properly announced. In other words, true Lifehouse fans got the tickets. Fans that visit the Lifehouse site on a regular basis, being disappointed so many times that Europe was skipped time in time again. And then, suddenly, the Cologne gig is scheduled and the biggest Lifehouse fans see it first.
With our well-deserved tickets we traveled to Cologne to see Lifehouse. We’ve been to this venue Stollwerck before to see Colbie Caillat and it was good to be back.
It was 10 pm when Lifehouse entered the stage. The crowd went completely crazy! Non-stop camera flashes and people making terrible noise! They started with Make Me Over, continuing with Spin. In the first part of the show they also played Hanging By A Moment. What a relieve to hear this song live, finally!
Nice selection of songs too. They played some of their older songs and some tracks from their upcoming album Smoke And Mirrors. Speaking of which, it was good to hear Halfway Gone, the latest single. We video taped that one. Worth mentioning is the moment that singer Jason Wade gave the floor to bassist Bryce Soderberg to sing a song. Ain't that just cool! It’s a new song called Wrecking Ball and it sounds great.
Jason Wade said that it was seven years ago since their previous visit to Germany. We had to wait a long, long time. But now we finally got to see Lifehouse and it was worth all the waiting! They played one more song, Everything, and then they left.
